Gropius, Humanist Alliance
The air practically thrummed with excitement. There were only a few days left before the games would be over and the athletes and spectators would return to their home nations for another four cycles. The Olympics had been everything Lyta could have hoped for. Watching the competitions in person had been even more amazing than watching them on the trideos. She had insisted that they go to every gymnastics event being held, though Donovar coaxed her to branch out at least a little, so they had also attended cycling, wrestling, and fencing competitions, among others. Every day, Donovar was forced to drag his daughter out of the Olympic complex, and that was only after every event was over.

Koreshi Chronicles - Chapter VII: Deviant Behaviour
There was a knock at the door, but it was too late for housekeeping, and Lukas never arranged meetings for an operational site.
He looked at Mads and Gabriel. "Room service?"
They looked at each other and then back to him, shaking their heads.
And the op had gone so well.

Koreshi Chronicles - Chapter VII: The Ghost and The Machine
Lorelei Nanda made no effort to separate work from personal life. In fact, she didn’t understand the notion of keeping them separate. To her, life was work and her work ensured life in the Alliance. She was born to her role, groomed for it, and as far as she was concerned, her sole reason for being was to contribute whatever she might to the greater good and Gropius’ vision.

Koreshi Chronicles - Chapter VII: Speaking Out Of Turn
“We've got to stop meaning like this.” The Doc gave her one of his typical grins as she opened her eyes. He was looking over her bandages and putting a mild sedative into her plasma drip, watching life flow back into her, drop by drop. “Seriously, Lyta, have you given any thought to... never mind.”
“Thought to what?” she asked, her voice clearer than he would have expected.
“This, all this.” With a wave of the hand he took in the cramped longrunner, the cot, and the IVs running into her arm. “And, of course, this,” he concluded, pointing to her wound.
Lyta grimaced. “Didn't we just make you a lot of money? You're in a weird place to be complaining.”
The Doc smiled. He really did like her. “Don't misunderstand. I enjoy making my blood money. I just prefer to make it on the blood of people I don't care as much about.”

Koreshi Chronicles – Chapter VII: Releasing the Tension
42 Spring, 1927
“Have you thought about giving it up?” he’d asked her. “You’re not responsible for their follies.”
She couldn’t remember the exact words, but that had been the gist of it. Asking her, entreating her to leave her brothers and the mercenary life they had built for themselves. Lyta wondered now whether the Doc had known, half a season ago, that this would happen, or whether he was just being generally protective of her. She supposed it didn’t matter. She wasn’t going to leave her brothers, not even if it sent her to jail. Not that she had much choice about it now.

Koreshi Chronicles - Chapter VII: Intake
41 Spring, 1927
Lyta shifted slightly, centering her weight on the balls of her feet as Lukas stepped aside and Detective Gorash walked in. Her eyes scanned the room a split-second before his did, checking for incriminating evidence. At least on the face of it there wasn’t much, not unless littering indoors was considered an arrestable offense in the Humanist Alliance. Gabriel and Mads had crashed after their 70-hour rush to prepare the hardware for the TDI job, but operational protocols hadn't been too heavily compromised. Before resting, they had still managed to get rid of the spare parts that hadn't been used in the device’s assembly and the leftovers from Fennec's drone surgery. The white board had been wiped down, the papers disposed of or at least hidden away.
For a moment, no one moved. All eyes were on the detective, some wary, some suspicious, none friendly.

Operation: Steal Corporate Intel from TDI went more smoothly than any of us had any reason to expect. Huzzah! Of course, we all got arrested after, so that does put a bit of a damper on things…

We may be sitting on a pile of money, but we’ve still gotta plan one more job. There’s always one more job. (But we can stop any time we want. Honest.)

Koreshi Chronicles - Chapter VII: Remembrance
29 Spring, 1927
Lyta hated Jan Mayen and everything it stood for. If she’d been given the choice, she would have gotten off the caravan the second she was well enough to stagger her way back towards the Alliance and its world-class hospitals. If she’d been given the choice, she never would have stepped foot within a hundred kilometers of the new GREL enclave. But no one had given her the choice, and now there was nothing she could do about it.
Lukas, Radsley, and Dr. Chambers were meeting with Col. Baakov, Todd was in consultation with Isabella Demosa, and Fennec had gone off in search of parts. Lyta barely knew any of the caravanners. She would just need to do what needed to be done by herself. It would just be an hour or two. She squared her shoulders and exhaled slowly. She would be fine.
