They walked along the river, take-out cups of hot chocolate steaming in the winter air. Miranda opened her mouth and, yet again, Lyta silenced her with a glance. Koreshi Chronicles - Chapter VII: End of the Line
36 Spring, 1927
They held hands as they hurried down the Oxford streets, looking for all the world like two sisters on a late-afternoon stroll. Lyta had become practiced at watching her periphery without obviously scanning the surroundings, and every sense was on high alert. Koreshi Chronicles - Chapter VII: First Blood
It was bound to happen. Someone was going to find out about this deal.
It could have been the Comptroller squeezing in on the deal or a leak from inside his organisation or, worse yet; maybe it was retaliation for what had been done to his transporter? It was more likely that it was Matoux making good on his threat. It could also been an agency of some kind, maybe even HIRA! Who knew?
