Koreshi Chronicles - Chapter VI: The Plan

"Okay, everyone, the plan is pretty much the same as it was before, except we're down one man." Lyta's voice came on, somewhat tentatively. "But it's okay, they're down one man too, and he's one of their better guys. I think we're still okay in terms of manpower. Quinn, if your comms are still on, say 'Yes' in your next sentence or two with Tatsugoro."

Lukas managed to get his confirmation in and that one word conveyed assurance. ‘Yes,' Lyta could do this.

Koreshi Chronicles - Chapter VI: Happy, Belated

11 Summer, 1926

“Lyta, honey, it ain’t your birthday, is it?”

Ellen Cranby regarded the slice of cake with a mixture of curiosity and suspicion. The candle sticking up from the middle of it was not a birthday candle. The hotel gift shop had not sold birthday candles, and Lyta hadn’t been in the mood to go hunting for one. They had, however, sold long tapers in calming pastel colors, the sort that rich executives’ wives might strategically place around a bathtub to try to forget that they were in a city made primarily of trash.

The mauve taper looked out of place atop the generic slice of chocolate cake Lyta had bought with her cawfee. It looked even more out of place in the TNTR café-bar, which reflected a certain modern minimalist aesthetic not suited for pastel candles. Lyta lit it with a tactical fire-starter and watched the flame hover gently.

Wordslingin'

This week's session is subtitled, "The train job(s)." Because why have only one, when you can have two for twice the price?

Back into the thick of things! Well... sorta. Mostly last night's session was about setting up for the next mission and preparing to wrap up the current one, but still. Yay gaming!

Koreshi Chronicles - Chapter VI: Southern Comfort

Lyta breathed deep in the cool evening air. She hadn’t expected there to be a stop so close to Lance Point, but homesteads were paying customers, and this one had booked a shipment. The longrunners were stopped for an hour or so, enough time to offload supplies and take payment, and for the passengers to stretch their legs, if they wanted.

Lyta wanted. She was tired of being cooped up, tired of being in close quarters with Ennik’s depression, Katchelli’s madness, and the Croydens’ quiet seething. She had found a ridge where she had a view of the caravan, enough to make sure they didn’t leave without her, but where she had relative privacy from prying eyes. She extended her staff and began twirling it in slow circles around her, letting her muscles loosen from being tight for too long, and letting her limbering muscles relax her mind.

She thought about Alain.

Koreshi Chronicles - Chapter VI : The Long Days Of Summer pt 2

Minnie slipped out of bed quietly and put on a brocade gown. Her light feet made no sound as she descended her spiralling staircase to the first floor of her apartment. Throwing a furtive glance in the direction she had just come from, she glided into her office, where she delicately closed the door. Activating the sweeper, she made a quick pass and found what she had expected: nothing. She then activated her signal jammer and finally keyed in the call on the trideo.
